The gorillas, especially the small populations like the mountain gorillas, are on the verge of extinction. Scientists calculate there are roughly 720 mountain gorillas living in the wild, but thanks to the associations working in their protection, this population is slowly increasing. Other populations are threatened by bushmeat and devastating diseases like Ebola.
The project S.O.S Gorilla has been created to raise funds to help the gorilla preservation.
